This year, fans of React’s longstanding BASS KITCHEN series will have the opportunity to witness brutal bass carnage as one of Spring Awakening’s branded stages is transformed into the wub-filled pit we deserve. Headlining the Bass Kitchen’s takeover will be an undisputed member of the Mount Rushmore of modern dubstep, Snails! Having created such iconic hits as “Holla Out,” “Deep In The Night” and “Frogbass,” Snails’ shining presence in the bass music community is unrivaled by most. When he closes out the stage with his face-twisting beats, fans are advised to hold tight and keep their arms and legs in the mosh pit at all times.

Spring Awakening announces Anjunadeep Stage w/ Rüfüs Du Sol, Lane 8 + more

This year’s Spring Awakening is right around the corner, and in celebration of the countdown, we’re proud to announce the first Branded Stage set to take over the festival grounds for a day of uniquely curated lineups and wild performances. Hosting will be none other than Above & Beyond’s smooth and sultry deep house imprint Anjunadeep, who will feature a headlining spot from Rüfüs du Sol, one of the hottest indie dance groups out of Australia! Spring Awakening Music Festival Turns 5 [Recap]

Having attended all 5 Spring Awakening Music Festivals, I can honestly say it has been exciting to see the festival grow from its infancy, to what is now THE EDM festival to attend in Chicago. React Presents’ other festivals may have been around longer, or shorter, but none offer more in terms of EDM than Spring Awakening. A quick search of the hashtag #SAMF16 on Instagram solidifies this claim, as people from all parts of the US attended this year’s festival.

It seems that most large EDM style festivals in Chicago have to deal with politics and neighborhood drama. Spring Awakening was no different, with its several location changes. Instead of focusing on this year’s challenges let me roll right into why this year’s festival was bigger, better and more organized.
