EDC Chicago Ticket and Location Info

At noon today Pasquela Rotella of Insomniac Events followed through with his promise of providing the much anticipated info about EDC Chicago details. Releasing the official dates and tweeting and instagram photo of what looks like the Chicago Speedway in Joliet. EDC Chicago will be hosted from Friday May 24 to Sunday May 26th. Tickets will go on sale at noon central time on Wednesday January 23.

People will complain that its not directly in Chicago but in my opinion no other available venue in Chicago was large enough to host the massive production that is EDC. Grant Park hosts Lollapalooza, Union Park North Coast Music Festival, Soldier Field has Spring Awakening Music Festival. This was the most logical of location though its a bit of a drive from the city.

To get tickets on January 23rd follow this link to the EDC Chicago Website. A 3 day pass will be ONLY $175 while VIP’s who have to be 21+ can enjoy the 3 day event for $299. Chicago will be the first time EDC party goers can also choose to camp at the event. Like other music festivals that showcase the camping option all campers will be allowed to walk back n forth between eh festival grounds and their campsites throughout the 3 days. If you choose to camp you must buy a camp permit which brings the general admission price to $295 and VIP to $419

Electric Forest 2013 Ticket Sale

Electric Forest tickets go on sale on Saturday January 19th at Noon. So get your wallets and hearts ready. This year Sherwood Forest is said to expand for the first time which is exciting to me since last year it was a great spectacle so I can only imagine what will happen this time around. If you are like me and paid for your ticket to last years Electric Forest by Credit Card, you should have received an email for the 24 hour limited pre-sale of tickets going on on Friday!!

The festival season is creeping up on us what seems like very quickly even though were only halfway done with  January. Tomorrow at noon more details about EDC Chicago get released at noon as well. Ultra is just around a corner in March and then Chicago’s historic 2013 festival filled summer starts.

Music Festival News Galore

Spring Awakening Music Festival early bird tickets went on sale this morning and sold out pretty quickly. When you go to the festival website you can sign up to a mailing list to receive info about the lineup and when tickets will go on sale. An interesting thing you might notice on the top left of the banner is that this year the festival is expanding into 3 days. The festival is scheduled to happen staring Friday June 14 and run through Sunday June 16. Given the amount of talent that went through Soldier Field last year in just 2 days I can only imagine who React Presents will bring for all 3 days (Bassnectar and Calvin Harris already confirmed as headliners with Nervo also confirming an appearance). Time will only tell. Stay posted for more info.

In more festival news  today Electric Forest has released a YouTube video with its teaser for the 2013 festival which also included the festival dates. The dates are Thursday June 27 and runs through Sunday June 30th for those who don’t want to view the video in its entirety. For those that do its a pretty good way of hyping up the festival and its listed below. Enjoy!

Ultra’s Second Weekend Lives!!!

Earlier this week the EDM community faced a possibly tragedy in the attempt of city of Miami Commission Chairman Marc Sarnoff attempting to cancel the festival’s second weekend. I am happy to report that this matter has been resolved as Ultra has agreed to address the chairman’s safety concerns and give the city $500,000 to add police and firemen to the two weekend festival.

It is safe to say that anyone planning to go to Miami for the second weekend can go ahead and buy their tickets without fear. Buy your tickets here.

Save Ultra’s Second Weekend!!!

Late last night I posted a lengthy post which included the unfortunate news about a city of Miami resolution ordering Ultra Music Festival to shut down its second weekend. This news we broke on our Facebook page on Monday as one of our other authors saw the pictured document.

Today’s post is one with a more positive message urging you to help save Ultra’s second weekend. This year would make the first time in 15 years that the festival is attempting to expand to two weekends. Even if you aren’t interested in attending Ultra but are part of the EDM community I feel you are obligated to help save what could be one of the best EDM weekends of the year. Swedish House Mafia is set to close out the festival with their final set together. While Armen Van Buuren is going to perform his milestone State of Trance 600 that weekend as well.
