According to an article in the Oceana County Press, Electric Forest organizers received approval via a 3-2 vote from the Grant Township Board Monday evening, Nov. 10, for a mass gathering permit.

Though the promoters (Madinson House Presents and Insomniac Events) have agreed to a 10 year lease with the Double JJ Ranch owners to hold the festival there; the Township Board must vote each year in order to grant the permit for the festival to actually happen.

Well have to see what happens for the 2016 installment of the festival, but for now lets be happy as June 25-28 are the set dates for next year’s installment. our best estimate is that tickets will go on sale early next year.

See you in the forest.

After a successful debut over Memorial Day weekend this year, Mysteryland USA is set to come back to the Bethel Woods Center For The Arts in May of 2015. According to a local paper, the Times-Herald Record, the festival was given the permits to expand the festival from 7,500 people to 20,000 people (for camping as reported by Dancing Austronaut).

The organizers (ID&T) are also trying to receive a permit from the Health Department to extend the current 60 hour duration fo the festival. This is in an effort to give campers more time to set up and pack up at the start and end of the festival.

In the end everything worked out and 35,000 attendees from around the world were able to experience the biggest and best Electric Forest to date.  That being said we can all sleep a little easier tonight knowing that as of yesterday The Double JJ Ranch and AEG Live, a national concert promotion company which acquired Electric Forest co-organizer Madison House Presents in January, have agreed on a 10-year deal to keep the music festival in Rothbury.
