C-H-U-C-K-I-E in C-H-I-C-A-G-O

The king of dirty dutch himself graced us with his presence the weekend of valentines day as he performed with 3lau at Concord Music Hall just a week after the ceiling came down at the venue just 15 minutes into Datsik’s set. In spite of much drama on the internet that the show wouldnt go on, it did. For a while it seemed that Chuckle would never come on as 3lau played a pretty lengthy set, and once Chuckie did make it to the decks he announced that he need 3 turntables to be set up and he only had 2, pushing him to start 15 late. Chuckie made up for it though by playing till 3:20 and then taking the time to shake hands with the fans one of which Mario (whysochi) was able to give Chuckie a piece of kandi.

Chuckie’s set started out with fast paced transitions between always well matched songs. He threw in some hits like Steve Aoki’s version of Kid Cudi’s “Pursuit of Happiness” as well as dropping “Smells like teen Spirit” by Nirvana to a “show me what you go till the mothaf****n beat drops” which amped the crowd up even more. Trap was mixed in throughout the set.

About midway through the set Chuckie went to his classics including “Who is ready to Jump” and ” What Happens In Vegas Stays In Vegas” also a great choice of songs in my opinion. The closing 20 minutes or so were all trappy, but Chuckle mixed it all well. For those who don’t know already Chuckie will be back in town for Spring Awakening this June!

The night was a success for more many reasons one of which was the fact that the WhySoChi crew raged for the first time in almost its entirety as only one member was missing. As always we saw some follower and fans which is always great! See you guys at the next show!!
