Sunday School, the longstanding series known for its defining takeovers at events like Mysteryland and Electric Zoo, will be curating its own lineup of diverse talent during this year’s Spring Awakening, providing the “festival within a festival” atmosphere that’s made it famous. Headlining the action will be famed North London duo Gorgon City, as they return to Chicago for a raucous set atop the Sunday School Stage decks.
Fans of React’s celebrated Body Languageseries will have the opportunity to experience its simmering house stylings and diverse assortment of talented DJs this year as the program returns for a second time following its 2016 Spring Awakening debut. Hosting a custom branded stage, Body Language’s roster will be headlined by Thomas Jack, the Hawaiian shirt-wearing, saxophone-playing champion of tropical house. Known for his uplifting, sunny creations and wide range of natural instruments within his tracks, Thomas Jack is primed to perfectly represent the spring season vibes with his bright and joyful set.
Acclaimed music publication Dancing Astronaut will host their debut branded stage at this year’s SAMF, featuring an all-star lineup of DJs from the highest realms of EDM stardom. At the top of the bill for Dancing Astro’s stage takeover will be none other than Benny Benassi, longstanding icon of electronic music and creator of some of the genre’s most celebrated hits. Best known for his 2002 classic “Satisfaction,“ Benny Benassi continues to dominate the top tier of production and DJing prowess. As he shuts down the evening, fans are invited to immerse themselves in the soaring house melodies and pounding electro madness late into the night.
This year, fans of React’s longstanding BASS KITCHEN series will have the opportunity to witness brutal bass carnage as one of Spring Awakening’s branded stages is transformed into the wub-filled pit we deserve. Headlining the Bass Kitchen’s takeover will be an undisputed member of the Mount Rushmore of modern dubstep, Snails! Having created such iconic hits as “Holla Out,” “Deep In The Night” and “Frogbass,” Snails’ shining presence in the bass music community is unrivaled by most. When he closes out the stage with his face-twisting beats, fans are advised to hold tight and keep their arms and legs in the mosh pit at all times.
This year’s Spring Awakening is right around the corner, and in celebration of the countdown, we’re proud to announce the first Branded Stage set to take over the festival grounds for a day of uniquely curated lineups and wild performances. Hosting will be none other than Above & Beyond’s smooth and sultry deep house imprint Anjunadeep, who will feature a headlining spot from Rüfüs du Sol, one of the hottest indie dance groups out of Australia! Their second album Bloom reached the No. 1 spot on the ARIA charts in 2016, skyrocketing the group to the highest realms of critical acclaim.
