The Fourth of July weekend is synonymous with grilling, beer, and fireworks. However, over the past two years for me and thousands of Chicago music enthusiasts, a beach, festival vibes, and electronic music replaced what defines our Holiday.

Mamby On The Beach is one of three new events that React Presents has started in 2015. This year it came back with a more diverse lineup and extended vendor/merch area, while keeping the atmosphere mellow and relaxing.

With 3 stages and a silent disco, you could easily find something to listen to over the two-day festival.  Atmosphere, Tale Of Us, and Santigold brought the hype and the crowds this year, while Lupe Fiasco, Chromeo, Loco Dice just filled in the rest of the schedule. Sprinkle in a local heavy hitter Gene Farris and some locals looking to make name for themselves, and you have yourself something special. Hannah Wants, Santigold and Chromeo made this festival for me. Unfortunately, Lupe Fiasco didn’t live up to the hype.

The Park Stage was moved further south, allowing for the vendor/merch area to be larger. This, in turn, created a convenient place for you to sit down and eat away from the stages. The silent disco area was expanded to give everyone some room to dance.  The SolarBeats crew set up shop right past the art installations, giving people a chance to do some yoga away from the larger crowds.

The VIP crowd could enjoy a lounge area filled with sofas and inflatable chairs. If they were in the mood for it, they could even take a swim in the lake as lifeguards were on duty. VIP elevated viewing areas made it easy to see your favorite acts.

Mamby on The Beach offers you everything you’d want in a mainstream festival.  What makes it special is the beach. This is the only festival in Chicago that you can literally tune the world out, sit on the beach, enjoy the breeze and sip your drink.
