A Sad Day In The EDM Scene

We’re sad to report that Paul Bäumer one of the members of the Dutch production Duo Bingo Players passed away today 12/18/13 after loosing his hard fought battle with cancer. Maarten Hoogstraten has been touring on his own as  Paul received treatment.

According to the groups official facebook page, all upcoming shows till the end of the year have been cancelled as friends and family grieve this tragic loss. WhySoChi would like to send our deepest sympathies to Maarten, Paul’s friends and family.

Electric Forest 2014 News

Electric-Forest-2013-9-450x299

Festival season has not even kicked off yet in Chicago or the Midwest but already wheels are in motion for one of next years most anticipated and what I consider one of the more unique music festivals Chicagoans could easily enjoy; none other than Electric Forest.

Having experienced the 2nd installment during the summer of 2012 and having many friends attend the even larger 2013 almost entirely camping festival i am happy to report that after scouting the internet information has come out that  Electric Forest organizers have submitted an application for a mass gathering permit dating June 26-29 2014.

The Grant Township board – the powers that be behind granting this permit will meet January 7th to discuss this matter. Be sure to check back with us for an update once any information is released. Till then check out our Electric Forest 2012 review and our photos to see what Rothbury Michigan, Double JJ Ranch and Sherwood Forest have to offer.

Ultimate Laser Experience

Last Saturday over 1000 people filled the dance floor at Concord Music Hall for a “Lazer Light and Heavy Bass Experience“.

As doors opened at 9am Robot Dentist took the stage proceeded by the Regulators which had killed it with their remix of “Wild Out” by Borgore . Followed by Team Bayside High who dropped “Gold Heart” which was a crowd turn up.  The crowd got lost within the music and kept going as Midnight Conspiracy took the stage at exactly midnight.

As the signature LED structured “Eye” on stage lit up Midnight Conspiracy took the stage for their “Rays of Ra” tour.  The crowd went wild with the heavy Lazer experience and as they dropped  their own remix of  “La Mara” by Carnage. They’re heavy bass and Lazer lights did nothing but put on an incredible show for Chicago. They closed the show with a surprise meet and greet for everyone.
